Artist Statement
Landscape can evoke wonder, thought, consideration. It can be an invitation into an unknown world, or one that feels reminiscent of distant memory. Landscape can be biographical, challenge perspective, stand as metaphor, and captivate attention. It can be at the same time both knowable and alluringly unfamiliar.
All these possibilities intrigue me. I have always been interested in human emotions, motivations, and the internal dialogues we all entertain. I am also enamored of the unique details and constructs of the Pacific Northwest. My art is the merging point for these interests , using landscape as metaphor for the experiences of being human.
